Erin Wilson "Shape Study 31"
New York based artist Erin Wilson creates elaborate works with her masterful quilting skills and keen sense of color and shape. While adopting the traditional form of quilting — Wilson’s unmistakable style is refreshing and modern. “Shape Study 31” is made in collaboration with KOFU. Wilson uses vintage cotton textiles from our collection, dyed in madder roots.
The work shows a sensitive attention to the textures, fades and mended parts of the original 100 years old fabric. It offers us a new way to appreciate this heritage from the past.
This work and other pieces by Erin Wilson, are available for viewing at Curious Corners' Showroom (242 W27th St. 5A, New York, NY 10001). Please make an appointment by emailing email@example.com.
